The development of application of computers in enterprises has come through five stages, which are application of single function, integration application at the department level, integration application in enterprise range, integration clients and supply salesmen, and cross-enterprise integration and dynamically electronic business. The first three application stages are essentially the integration of the internal information of the enterprises, starting with the application of supply chain management technology, and the application of computers in enterprises has moved to cross-enterprise or inter-enterprise information integration. Moreover, the application of computers in enterprises is gradually developing from automatization or semi-automatization to workflow pattern, employing Object Oriented approach to analyze and design. This is, based on the workflow pattern put forward by WFMC, to analyze the characteristics of the workflow engine and the present existed heterogeneity workflow system. The occurrence of Web Service technology provides a series of technological support to the information alternation of the heterogeneity workflow system.This study applies the asynehronism Web Service technology to realize the integration of the workflow engine, based on the "Workflow Management System based on Web" applied in Hohhot Net Communications Corporation in InnerMongolia. Starting with the standard agreement of Web Service, this study applies the Web Service standard, based on the documentation, to the information alternation of the workflow engine to analyze the characteristics of the information alternation between the workflow engines. In view of the disadvantage of synchronization Web Service, this study brings forward using asynchronism Web Service to realize the integration of the workflow engines and to realize the instant communication between the workflow process instances. Thus the would-be efficiency decline of workflow executive resulted from the waiting in communication can be avoided.This dissertation is organized in the following sequences. The introduction chapter introduces the workflow technology, puts forwards the background and significance of the present study, and makes a brief introduction to the essential work of this study. Chapter two introduces the relevant technology and the flat roof of the instruments applied in this study. Chapter three deals with the overall designing scheme of the workflow engine integration. Chapter four provides in detail the designing of the workflow engine integration. Last chapter is the summary and conclusion of this study.
