The Study And Implementation Of Web-Based Workflow Management System

The workflow is a process of management which can be partly or fully automatically executed. It can make documents, information and tasks to be delivered and executed according to a series of rules. With the development of workflow management technology the integration of workflow management systems and the Internet has become a popular research point of workflow technology and the research of web based workflow management has become a new direction.This article presented the structure and data model design of a web based workflow management based on the analysis and research of the architecture, workflow model and relevant criterion of the workflow management system proposed in WfMC (Workflow Management Coalition). This system is composed of three main parts which are process modeling tools, monitor & management tools and workflow engine. Firstly, the design and implementation of workflow engine based on the relation database and the detailed explanation of key operation algorithms and rules are given, then the multi-level access control and delegation are discussed based on the integration of access control and workflow management, and finally an application of our web based workflow system as a business supporting platform in the office automation system of the bureau of science & technology is given.
