With the development of techniques in the signal processing, broad-band transmission and network, digital audio and video technologies have been accepted and got a widely use. On account of enormous audio-visual data stream and over high requirement to processor performances, the early audio-visual systems have to use huge and expensive workstation to implement their functions.Recent advancement in embedded processors makes it possible that using an embedded processor for audio-visual signal processing and it will form a trend gradually. Compared with the old PC systems, the embedded audio-visual processing system (a PC-like system) is much more low-priced, cost-efficient and small-sized.The IPC now used in the Broadcast and TV Enforced Terminal is so large-sized and high-cost that it cannot be widely used. Therefore, the embedded techniques are adopted to study the Broadcast and TV Enforced Terminal in this dissertation so that it can meet the requirements to the functions, the reliability, the cost, the volume and the consumed power of the whole system. In addition to completing software design of the embedded audio-visual processing system and hardware design of its partly peripheral circuits, we also work out PCB design of Embedded Civil Air Defense Alarm Broadcast and TV Enforced Terminal based on the chip S3C44B0X of Samsung. Its hardware design includes that of kernel circuits (SDRAM and Flash interfaces etc.needed by the chip S3C44B0X proper operation) and peripheral circuits (video output, audio output, LCD display and serial port communication modules) of the platform. And the software design includes programing of mostly hardware drivers on the Deltasystem platform.
