Campus One-card System Design And Development

With the development of modern scientific technology, Computer technology and communication technology are more and more widely applied in the campus. The number of colleges and universities implementing integrated campus card systems has increased rapidly over the past several years. A one-card system is an excellent way to provide effectiveness and convenience of dining services, library services, door access, and College identification. Taking one Campus Card System of an institute in QingDao for example, this paper summaries the design principle, blue print and trend.The software system is programmed by VB and VC++ languages, and consists of Win2000 Server operating system, SQLServer2000 (C/S) database management, 4428 IC card, etc. During the using of the system, we have developed library management system. We have also designed meal card system cooperative with Shenzhen ChengXi enterprise, designed campus telephone card with China telecom and designed access door with colleague. Up to now, the system is satisfied.In this article, we first address why the campus card system arises, and then describe the development of the system. Secondly, we summarize the system, such as the system requirement, the system platform, the equipment and the database design. Thirdly, we describe the subsystem, containing the application used in the fields of meal card system, library card system, campus telephone card and access door system, etc. Fourthly, we describe how the web service technology is applied in the systems. At the end of this file, problems in extending new technology are raised for subsequent research.
