The receive technology of Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) signal is one of the key technologies of high-speed receiver. Quadrature receiver is typical scheme in high- speed receiver. Channel equalization is a necessary part of high-speed receiver. Because in the case of UWB , it is difficult for the high speed receiver to keep the amplitude consistency and the phase orthogonality of I and Q channels. It is necessary to equalize the channel. Being based upon this reason, this paper discusses the question about the channel equalization of the UWB quadrature receiver. Mainly including:The principle of self-adaptation and Blind Equalization (BE) is discussed. The BE technology for quadrature demodulation receiver, and the BE algorithm of Bussgang for the realization in hardware is introduced in detail.The amplitude and phase error of the UWB quadrature receiver is discussed. The equalize schemes of time field and frequency field are pointed out, and the advantages & disadvantages of two schemes are compared. Eventually, the scheme based upon time field is selected.For the reason of high-speed realization in hard ware, the conventional serial Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm (MCMA) is changed, a sort of pipelined MCMA for realization in hard ware is designed. The two algorithms are compared through simulation and analyzed in performance.Finally, the pipelined MCMA is realized in FPGA, and the result of design is tested through simulation.
