Internet is experiencing an explosive growth, and all kinds of network productions emerge in endlessly. Recently, as resource of software and hardware is perfect and mature, application of embedded system has become one of the hotspots in 21th century, whith is used communication, automatization, information and electrical system, military affairs and so on. This paper mainly introduces the design of Etherent Vidio Server with ARM and embedded Linux, and realizes the function of hardware and partial software. The paper has five chapters and shows the process of design and realization.The first chapter introduces knowledge of system, conception of embedded system and background of problem. It includes the theory and character of system, the hardware and software of embedded system, expecially the application and excellence used in network, so Linux is choosed as software system.The second chapter introduces mainly the hardware of system. The blocks of system, including ARM and the FLASH block and the Serial block and the Ethernet block and the SDRAM block are introduced.The third chapter introduces Bootloader.Bootloader is a piece of program that operates at the beginning of uClinux Kernel.By this progrem,we can initialize hardware and the interrelated registers.After this work we can make the system to a state ,at that we can prepare for uClinux Kernel..The forth chapter introduces software structure of system,and mainly introduce the accomplish of Etherent Vidio Server.IN this chapter,we accomplish the function of the serial and the internet.What's more,we edit some driver programs.The fifth chapter gives the environment of exploitation and debugging process. After the test of hardware and software, Router completes primarily partial ruction.The last introduces realization and performance of Router and the next work.
