To satisfy the demand of virtual prototyping performance analysis, the dissertation studies the stress analysis information description of virtual prototyping and the display of the mesh model and its boundary condition. The dissertation emphasizes the research of interactive visualization of stress in static virtual prototyping and the visualization of stress in dynamic virtual prototyping, on the basis of which the interactive visualization system of the stress field in virtual prototyping is developed, which can support the designer interactively control the virtual prototyping system, and the designer can observe the change of the stress in virtual prototyping. The function of the system is validated by the engineering examples.The dissertation is organized as follow:Chapter 1 introduces the conception and research situation of virtual prototyping technique, and expatiates the key technique of the interactive visualization of stress field in virtual prototyping. The background, significance and main contents of the project are presented particularly.Chapter 2 introduces the information description of stress analysis model. The data structure of stress model based on the topological relation of the element mesh is established. The mesh model and the boundary condition of virtual prototyping are displayed.Chapter 3 introduces the interactive stress visualization process of static stress analysis. The method of the converting the concentrated force to distributing force is presented particularly. The data conversion is realized from commercial FEA software to the system. The real-time stress field in virtual prototyping controlled by the designer is displayed.Chapter 4 presents the automatic transformation method between assembly information file of virtual prototyping and dynamics simulation model. Through the dynamic and kinematics simulation, the real-time force transferring is realized. The stress field visualization of dynamic virtual prototyping is also realized by combining the real-time position and orientation of the moving part in virtual prototyping and the real-time approximated result of the stress analysis part in virtual proto type.Chapter 5 develops the interactive visualization system of the stress field in virtual prototyping, briefly introduces the developing environment, function and flow. In the end the engineering examples are given.Chapter 6 summarizes the dissertation and puts forward the further research work.
