The calligraphy and painting art history of China is long and the source flows far long as one of cultural treasure of our country and also as one of important markings of the China civilization history, having the lofty position and amount influences among nations. The traditional Chinese painting is its basic glossary with the color. The ancients pointed a painting art with so-called"Red-blue", expressing that Chinese painting is an art world with riotous but bright color exactly. It has the sense of vision space that art enrich with the pigment creation, carrying on communication and spreading the color information toward people of this world with the language and societies of the color.The color information that pigments bring is a sign, such as writing and lines...etc. and nothing can be compared with it. It's usage in Chinese painting really reflects the art for an age, life, custom, dress and each aspect of the system etc. and provids the very and precious historical data for the posterity. So the color variety problem of the pigments should cause the Chinese painting creator, the mount teacher and the conservator's attention. The aging condition that makes use of chroma to learn to study the material is a more mature method of cultural relic and the archives protection field, and the color difference is the best standard that evaluates the pigment durability of traditional Chinese painting.The usage of the pigments has already had the history of more than 2000 years in our country .The most ancient Chinese traditional painting is a few silk-paintings that studies of ancient relics to be discoved in Changsha of Hunan province. Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty are flourishing period of development of the Chinese painting pigments, Afterwards it declines gradually. The specialized research is also to be asked about, now the age calls the concern to the Chinese paintings pigments.The pigments of Chinese painting are the special pigment to artist. Colorant and gums are its main composition. The pigments of Chinese painting contain three kinds of the mineral quality, the plant quality and chemistries synthesis. This selected aging works carries on with 8 kinds of Chinese painting pigments in common use. Put everykind of Chinese painting pigments respectively under four kinds of the conditions to carry on the aging experiment with in total 120 hours and attain numerical value of Color difference every 24 hours as follows:1. From the experiment result to see Gamboges that is the plant quality pigment bears the light better, the variety range of Burnt Sienna and Phthalocyanine Blue's color difference is smaller. The Cinnabar belongs to the mineral quality pigments, but variety range of color difference is biggest, bearing the light not strong. Cinnabar has two kinds of Crystalloids and can change from one to the other mutually under low energy, which is the cause of Cinnabar's color-changing.2. In exothermic aging condition. According to the empirical formula of Arrhenius we can know that the responding speed become to increase doubly if the temperature goes up 10 °Cs. On the one hand the material and pigments become the big molecules, on the other hand the activation energy of chemical reaction changes. Meanwhile cause the Chinese painting to make into the physics of the material and pigment to break at the same time. We can see from the result that Gamboges Keeps stable still and Rouge is sensitive to the high temperature. But total to say, the mineral quality pigments are better than the plant quality pigments.3. In aging condition of acid. The source of acid is very extensive, mainly harmful air switch to various acid, among them endanger the most serious is SO2. According to the result, colors of all pigments change but the mineral quality pigments are better than he plant quality pigments.4. hi aging condition of Alkali. The influence of the alkali upon the pigment shows outstanding very much. Under the NaOH function, data of color difference of pigments shows obvious because there are metal ions in abio-pigments and organic-pigments are acidic.The result shows that the mineral quality pigments are better than the plant quality pigments.Comprehensive analysis to see, abio-pigment is better than organic-pigments in total, but there are some differences in various conditions. Under the comprehensive function of the environment factors, the life of the Chinese painting will face the serious risk.
