With the development of the wireless communication technology, the spectrum resource becomes scarce. For making use of frequency resource effectively and making air channel free, we need spectrum monitoring necessarily. In the last few years, with the development of software ratio technology, the level of the monitor equipments also obtained much advance. However, a radio monitoring receiver with broad frequency scale(20-3000 MHz),high scanning rate(above 1GHz/s) and whole spectrum real-time display has not developed. Some imported monitoring receivers with broad frequency scale can only scan slowly and couldn't meet actual needs. Not only these imported receivers'price is high but also those developed countries usually limit the quantities of imported receivers and related technology is not open. The broadband monitoring receiver related to the paper is improved on the narrowband VXI-3570 receiver, increasing the spectrum scan step, enhance the monitoring efficiency. The intermedium frequency (intermediate frequency) signal comes from the front panel, and the broadband monitoring receiver requires a kind of chip with high performance because of complicated intermediate frequency signal processing. The module of DSP has to be made some improvement to adapt to the broadband scan. In this paper, a serial of signal processing modules are put forward, which can meet the project requirements. The author selects the high performance DSP TigerSHARC TS-101 after comparing the ASIC, FPGA, DSP and the dedicated CPU. ADSP-TS101 provides high working frequency, strong float operation capability, high speed data processing and internal memory with large capacity. It has the special unit to deal with the communication algorithm, including the Viterbi decoding. So it adapts to be applied to the software radio. In this system, the received IF signal is to be digital down converted, and then is to be processed through the base band filter. To deal with the signal I and Q, the interested result will be get. The author debugs, emulates the program in one ADSP-TS101 EZ-KIT Lite and simulates the multiprocessor program in VisualDSP++. The running efficiency of software is the key to system. In the end, the author makes research of program optimization about DSP programming.
