Diode-pumped all-solid-state lasers (DPSSL) have more advantages than traditionallamp-pumped laser, such as high efficiency, compactness, high stability, and longlifetime. All-solid-state ultraviolet laser have become a central of focus in the field oflasers due to their many advantages. They are widely used in the field of industry, precisematerials making, medical treatment, spectroscopic analysis, optical printing andscientific research in general. This dissertation presents results of theoretical andexperimental researches on lasers based on all-solid-state 355nm ultraviolet laser. Thecontents can be outlined as follows:1 The advantages and applies of diode-pumped solid-state ultraviolet lasers are introduced. The main approaches and new results of all-solid-state ultraviolet lasers with diode-pumped at present are summarized.2 According to the theory of nonlinear frequency doubling, sum-frequency and the Q-switch theory, we have researched all-solid-state ultraviolet lasers based on experiments. Analyzing the characters of every kind of nonlinear crystal, their advantages and shortness are presented. The best work way of 355nm ultraviolet laser is investigated.3 The characters of KTP crystal and LBO crystal that is the best crystal used for second-harmonic generation are compared. The best transmission rate are researched when fundamental wave and green laser have the same output power; The possibility of obtaining 355nm laser by inter-cavity frequency doubling and extra-cavity sum frequency mixing is discussed; The possibility of obtaining 266nm laser by acoustic-optical Q-switched inter-cavity frequency doubling and extra-cavity fourth harmonic generation is also discussed. When the incident pumping power was 6.9W, a maximum of 71mW average output power at 266nm at 15kHz repetition rate have been obtained...
