Image processing technology is an across boundary subject which deals with such subjects as vision psychology, signal processing, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence so on, which has been applied extensively to biology medicine, satellite remote sensing, industry monitoring and robot control fields etc. Recently it penetrates rapidly into agricultural scientific research and manufacture technology field, but used rarely in pasturage. This research utilizes image processing technology, virtual instrument technology and computer technology to design hardware and software of dairy cow type linear appraisal system, which realizes measuring dairy cow type character parameter, at last making grading appraisal.In order to get image of reflecting dairy cow integer, use camera to acquire dairy cow image respectively from such three directions as positive frontage, positive rear and positive side, then input computer through image acquisition board digitalization.
