The accurate measurement of steam wetness has great significance in guiding safe and economic operation of a steam turbine in power plant and in controlling some industrial production process. In this paper, the X-band resonator that is used as a sample cavity in the steam wetness measurement system has been designed, the measurement system is designed and the working principle of the system is analyzed. Based on the perturbation method, the influence of water membrane to resonant frequency and the quality factor of the cavity is analyzed. The pneumatic property of the cavity is simulated, and the equivalent circuit model of the reflected cylindrical cavity is founded. The cavity works at the frequency of 9.6GHz and the mode of TE011, and couples with the rectangle waveguide through a hole. At last, the facture of the cavity is completed and the measurement result shows the resonant cavity suits to measure wetness with flowing wet steam.
