Configuration software has the most important place in much industrial control and automatic application software. With the developing of computer technology, the design methods of configuration software was developed from process oriented to component, network, and generality oriented. As the important component technology on the windows platform, COM/DCOM has quite important meaning to studying and designing of FCS configuration technology based on reusable component. In order to improve the reliability, extensibility, reusability and openness of configuration software and to shortened its developing period. This paper probes into the research and design of FCS configuration software with reusable component technology. First, this paper analyses and studies the configuration software's developing background, researching actuality inside and outside, designing idea, system structure and developing trend. Second, introduces the features, meanings, advantages, kinds and developing trends of FCS. Second, analyses the developing and assembling methods of component, such as COM/DCOM. Based on these, combines the control system features, and blends in COM technology, designs a suits of configuration software based on COM. This system includes following parts: graphical interfaces configuration, flow control configuration and running system, real-time database subsystem and trend chart module, history report module and driver program interface module. As practice, this configuration software is also used to develop a simulated driving system which is applied in practice, the result shows that the expected demands of study and practice is ultimately reached.
