| Along with the increasing prevalence of computer, the requirement and complexity of software for all kinds of fields has being increased. It seems to be an excessively important problem that how to improve the quality of software and meanwhile shorten the time of development more effectively. To solve this problem software reusability (SR) provided the feasible blueprint. SR supported the new system's development via utilizing the old software product directly, which made the system's exploitation need not begin from "zero" every time and could enhance the productivity. The software component technology is the most key technology of SR. it is also the core of component based development (CBD). Using the traditional pattern of industry reference, CBD have found a brand-new thinking for software development. People can set up a new application system in way that assembles with the component (reuses of component).This dissertation starts from software crisis, brings forward the relevant technology of software reuse and software component. On the basis of analyzing and summarizing CBD, Combining my personal development experience, this dissertation starts its work from two aspects of development for reuse and development with reuse. It abstracts and development two representative components which can be used in developing MIS, on the basis of the components, it developed a Forest Resources Information Integration System which can be used in forestry's production and management. The development process of the system is a successful experience of developing an information system using CBD.
