System-on-a-Chip (SoC) integrates the functions of a digital system, including signal collection, conversion, storage, processing and input/output, into a single silicon chip. So SoC has many advantages, such as fast speed, high integration and low power. In fact, SoC has become an important research area in microelectronics technology. With the development of microelectronics technology, the integration of SoC increases rapidly, and design complexity augments increasingly. To solve these problems, we need to adopt hardware/software co-design to do system level SoC design. SoC hardware/software co-design includes system modeling, system simulation, hardware/software partitioning, high level hardware synthesis, hardware/software co-simulation and constraint code generation etc. Among them, the SoC system modeling describes the behavior of the SoC system at algorithm level by some system modeling method, and generates the executable code. The SoC system simulation validates the system function and analyzes the system performance at algorithm level. It is the first step to model the system and simulate the system model, which determines the effect and quality of hardware/software partitioning, high level hardware synthesis and hardware/software co-simulation to some extent.In this paper, we study SoC system modeling and system simulation technologies. After pointing out the deficiencies of existing related researches, we put more effort on CTG based SoC system modeling and system simulation method. We implement the tool for SoC system modeling and system simulation in YH-PBDE environment. Then we study the baseband signal process algorithm of CDMA mobile station, system modeling and system simulation method of CDMA mobile station baseband chip. There is the main work and achievements as follows:1). On the basis of the research on Constrained Taskflow Graph (CTG), we put forward CTG based system modeling and system simulation method for SoC design. Firstly, describe the SoC system function using CTG model. Secondly, refine the tasks in the CTG model and set up the framework of tasks. Finally, the CTG model is generated. The system modeling method takes the advantages of CTG model, which is reusable and flexible. After system modeling of SoC system, we maps the tasks in CTG model to algorithm, generating the corresponding algorithm flow of CTG model, and getting the program prototype of the SoC system. Then we analyze the functions and performances of the program prototype.2). We implement the tool for system modeling and system simulation in YH-PBDE environment. The tool supports the SoC system modeling, SoC system simulation and reuse design. The application of the tool to the SoC system, which comprises the CDMAbaseband signal process and MP3 decoding, increases efficiency.3). We study the technology of CDMA mobile station baseband signal process, implement CDMA mobile station baseband signal process algorithm, and set up the CDMA mobile station baseband signal process algorithm as a part of algorithm database. According to the system demands, CDMA mobile station baseband signal process is refined into three subtasks: channel codec, spreading spectrum and inverse process, modulation and demodulation. And every subtask can be refined again. For example, channel coder can be refined into CRC coder, convolution coder, repeating coder and interleaving coder. Finally all the subtasks are implemented and added to the algorithm database in the YH-PBDE environment.4). In YH-PBDE environment, we complete the system modeling and system simulation of the CDMA mobile station baseband chip, and add the CTG model of CDMA baseband chip to the CTG model database. After the system modeling of CDMA baseband chip, we gain its CTG model. After the system simulation of the CTG model, we gain the parameters of the system functions and performances. Take the parameters as the property of CTG model, add the CTG model to the CTG model database, and complete the CTG model database in the field of CDMA baseband chip.
