According to the requirement of searching information on the Web database, we design the system particularly and realize the query system of forest insect in yunnan with ASP. NET technology.This Web database system servers the forest insect production in yunnan. There are 5333 kinds of forest insect consisting of 195 species in 14 families in database. We realize the function of information searching and administrating on the Web. This query system is composed of five parts, which includes the system introduction, the information searching system, the intelligent searching.system , the science research Web sites and contacting to us, respectively the information searching system and the intelligent searching system are the main parts of the system. The page of introduction is to introduce the whole system to the visitor simply. Using the information searching system, The user can choose the favorite way by himself. We can browse the forest insect, search information by the name in Chinese, the name in English and the shortening form of insect name in Chinese. And you can click the detailed information button, you will get the needed information. The detailed result includesseven items. They are "insect name in Chinese" , "the shortening form of insect name in Chinese" , "insect name in English" , "insect character" , "distributing place" , "insect picture" , and "family" . Using the intelligent searching system, we can select character information and we will obtain the detail information of insect.
