In the rubber processing, the vulcanization is the last phase but the most important one. As the main machine of the vulcanization, the flat vulcanization machine must have the capability to control the vulcanization's condition, including vulcanization's temperature, time and pressure. The control precision will directly impact the rubber products' quality. However, the control precision of temperature is the most important of them . The higher the control precision of temperature, the better and the more stable quality of rubber products. Unfortunately, that the control precision of temperature is not enough is the universal shortage in real productions, which can not reach the natural standard. So, designing the flat vulcanization machine with high control precision of temperature has more actual value for rubber industry.Firstly, the paper analyzed flat vulcanization machine temperature control systems both inside and outside. Then, integrating the PLC technology and applying fuzzy control technology in the temperature control system, the paper proposed a new plat vulcanization machine with fuzzy temperature control system. It can effectively improve the control precision and adapt to the different vulcanization temperature's requirements in different kinds of rubber products, such as SBS, polypropylene, and maleic rubber.The paper presented the whole system's design. PLC was the core, high performance modularize sets were the hardware, and the matching software were used. The anti-jamming in hardware and software are considered to insure the system's stability and reliability. By analyzing, the control temperature in plat vulcanization machine is an uncertainty, big inertia, and serious non-linearity object. So the fuzzy control was adapted to realize the control, because it had a thick skin to controlled object's parameters and had a less exceed amplitude modulation than PID.The test result indicated that the new PLC plat vulcanization machine with fuzzy temperature control system can effectively vulcanize SBS, polypropylene and maleic rubber. Furthermore, It overcame the disadvantage of hard operation operate and realized the intelligent and automated control.
