Virtual Instruments technology is an outcome of the combination of modern Computer System and Instruments Technology ,and is an important technology in the field of modern Computer Assistant Test.It makes traditional instruments develop into Intelligentization Modularization.Virtualization.Internetization.Serial Bus usually contains RS-232,RS-485 and CAN Bus, the characteristics of which are data serial, protocol simple, error rate low, security and rely.So it can be used widely. Meanwhile, it is a problem that how to test and maintain. In this paper, a General Serial Bus Analysis System is developed according to the principle of Virtual Instrument.This article introduces the function of a simple and virtual logic tester,which contains the 80C51 microcomputer system,FPGA,the system constitution and the design of software and hardware.The system is made of two parts —the hardware block and the software. The hardware is designed to collect and translate the signal to be measured through Serial Bus, then gives the computer with the signals. Using the powerful digital processing ability of the computer,the signal will be analyzed and displayed in user-friendly interface by software according to the given requirements.The measurement system is able to measure the voltage signal of the RS-232,RS-485 and CAN Bus and performs wave display, data processing and analysis, as well as some regular function such as data saving and printing out. The software is designed for Windows operating system. VB is his programme software.
