CSCD(Computer Supported Cooperative Design) is a process that many function groups participate in a project. A mass of reciprocally restricting and influencing relations consist in various groups. At the same time, to various design groups, point of view thinking over, criterion estimating, and field knowledge are different. Thus, these functions inevitably result in conflict in CSCD. During product development, Conflicts exist in any places, and they are inevitable. CSCD is a process that conflicts produce and are cleared up.Conflicts are very important in CSCD. By total consideration, conflicts have both advantages and defects. On the one hand, conflicts possibly result in inhanmony or grounds with designs. Clearing up conflicts will increase design cost; On the other hand, conflicts are the beginning of a good and innovatory design. Existence of conflicts enables designers to find and solve problems as soon as possible, finally achieving the target to improve each capability of product and satisfying the demands of experts with different fields.
