With the rapid development of computer technology, each realm is extensively attending to the application of computer network. One of the basic thought of thesis is concern how to apply this technology to design realm of the machine and electricity product. Collaborating mutually different realms and providing intelligence decision-making for big and complicated design system so that Product design project can rapidly finished and optimized. All advantages are presented in the use of computer supported cooperative design (CSCD). This paper, from the point of view of the whole system at first, analyses the key technology of CSCW, and give a multi-agent model experiment platform that is similar to the federate system. Constructing the application environment of CSCW. The process of programming is given in detail.In distributed system, many designer agents take part in the process of cooperative design applied in different design system. Due to the different design goal of the design agent, conflicts can occur in the middle of cooperation between the distributed systems. One of the important things in constructing a collaborative design system is to systematically deal with the conflict resolution arising from the design notions. The construct of the agent communication model is useful for solving the problem of communication limit and design information share in distributed system. Based Agent method can improve the extension and recycle of system. Based on analysis of the characteristics of agent communication applied in cooperative design system, the author proposes a solution for negotiation conflict avoidance, designs an agent communication model, using KQML as communication language. The method of case retrieval and nearest neighbor matching algorithm are emphasized. Finally, case-based reasoning supporting functions in agent-basedcooperative design system are studied and implemented. Using the Multi-agent system and the computer network technology, design the distributed intelligence collaborative design system with agent as means. Helping the designers to improve design quality and speed.Regarding the design process of gearlever bracket as the example, author establish database model and add new cases to case database. Then, CSCDIM system prototype running instance is presented for collaborative design.At last, the author draws some conclusions and points out the research direction and emphasis in the future.
