| In order to improve the management levels of urban water supply enterprises, to adapt the development of market economy, this project studied and designed the information system of the water supply network.During the design and study of water supply network information system, at first analyzing the situation and existing problems of water supply network at present, on the basis of sufficient survey, this project carried on total analysis and design, adopted software engineering method, put forward design of system function and subsystem, detailed the function of every subsystem. Meantime, on the basis of the structure, the project carried on the design of the system database.From the angle of design and development, regarding geographical information system as technical support, combining the actual demand for the information management of the water supply network, carrying on the secondary development on MapGIS platform and foundation, this project made water supply network information system fully utilize GIS function to edit the space data and the attribute data, show, analyze, deal with, inquire about the data- This project thus could serve urban water supply management accurately, efficiently, promptly, visually.Study emphatically explained how to realize the basic hardware configuration of the information management of the water supply network and software design. It put forward the key technique of realizing the project and data management of ZW-GIS. Finally, this article summarized on this system characteristic, innovation, the realistic meaning and development trend of water supply network GIS.Study brought forward how to adopt advanced GIS technology to raise utilization ratio of water resource and management level of urban water supply enterprises. For supply water enterprises to utilize the existing water resource in good time, rationally and effectively, for accelerating the urban construction and economy development, it had general practical significance.
