The essential attribute of the news is " new ", but a lot of news gives somebody one kind to seem to have met before and feel among reality, and people describe this kind of feeling with the set pattern. This kind of feeling can be summed up for " familiarity ". " Familiarity " should be the familiarity of the text but not news. The news text is a set of old quality and new quality, " familiarity " and " new " is both the basic attribute of the news text. The news text is works of news which explain specific incident and Imply certain meaning, whose " familiarity " can be built up by language layer, incident meaning layer and imagine meaning layer. Text" familiarity " stems from news writing form, imitating type education and imitation, ideology and value standard, political mechanism, propaganda mechanism, etc. Text" familiarity " have both positive function and negative function, but negative function should arouse attention even more. By economics " marginal utility decrease progressively " law and literature and art psychology " psychological distance " theory, it is poor efficient in spreading, in addition it will also cause the fact to be distorted, misleads the masses, make editor feels tired, etc. It should recommend the professional doctrine of the news and form the habit of innovation to weaken the negative function of " familiarity".
