In this paper , a kind of system for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis which is developed by the form of virtual instrument is presented : the system is designed on the workbench of LabVIEW . the data transmission between personal computer and data acquisition card (USB2002) is realized by USB . The cost of this system is deeply decreased by designing the system in virtual instrument mode . It is convenient to carry and adapt to engineering test in spot , because of the use of notebook PC and outside data acquisition card . As for as the function of software is concerned , it completes not only data acquisition and data solution in time and frequency domain , but also on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis about rotating machinery . The improved BP Network is applied in the module of fault diagnosis . Compared with traditional instrument , it has special advantages , such as high speed , high precision , low price , friendly interface simple operation and so on , and has high practical value in the rotating machinery condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.
