Meteorological facsimile charts are primary means to obtain meteorological data in the navigation. Raw image data is a quasi lattice data which has dynamic information and huge mount of data. Raw image cost long time in the transmission process. In the information digital field, long time during the transmission process influence the performance of meteorological facsimile receiver. It's bad for subsequent treatment and implication. According to raw image is a huge data, compress and format transformed quasi lattice data and vector the lattice data are two means of realization of data compression and format transformation.Raw meteorological facsimile chart data was saving as lattice image. Through analysis two usual compression algorithms, an algorithm for meteorological facsimile image was put forward. Meteorological facsimile chart were transmit by wireless short, bad weather made meteorological facsimile chart have too much noise image. The compression rate was improved by image denoise, image enhancement and image segmentation.Vectorization can make fusion electronic chart further and expand the scope of application of meteorological facsimile image also deduce the mount of image data. Through analysis the characteristic of meteorological facsimile image, region labeling and clustering were used to located the character region which benefit to vector image layered; After vectorization, according to the characteristic of curve segment, dynamic segmentation method was used to curve fitting what realized compressing the vector image data and laid the foundation for expanding implication of meteorological facsimile image.
