Both image processing and visualization are new rising researches. They have made some great progresses in these few decades years. With the embedding of the researches and the needing of the applying, some new conceptions, new ideas and new methods are produced .They are developing and looking the directions of intelligentizing and systematization. In despite of CT and MRI have been used diagnosing, these medical instruments only offer 2D image of inner clay. Doctor estimates the sizes and shapes of the focus by many 2D images with his experiences, and conceives the 3D geometry relation of focus and tissue around the focus. It brings many difficulties to curing. Reconstructing the 3D shape by a series of 2D images and showing the 3D shape on the computer have the important meaning.This thesis' research purpose is rendering a 3D head portrait model basing on medical image processing, 3D reconstructing and speeding molding technology. The datum of the thesis are a set of paralleling 2D slices (the CT slice of cerebra), bringing out an improved filtering method: Adaptive LUM filter; Resolving the problem that reflex yawp on the teeth makes losing shape of head skin contour that is picked up according to existing datum; Applying MATLAB arithmetic language to reconstruct the head 3D surface image and carry through relevant light and shade processing by image processing arithmetic; And gaining the across, vertical section and inclined section.3D image is clarity and exactitude .It is the important base of studying the clay structure and analyzing having or no pathological changes. The arithmetic and realization are also the same with the other resembling applying, such as interior detecting of production.
