Industrial Ethernet has acquired comprehensive recognition and has gone through deep research in recent years, with many successful applications in the field of industrial control. It?ˉs a valuable task to use the industrial Ethernet technology in automobile safety testing supervisory control system. In this paper, particular discussion is proposed on two essential problems effecting the application of industrial Ethernet and corresponding solutions. Mechanism of CSMA/CD and principles of exchanger are analyzed, methods to solve uncertainty and nonreal time problems in communication are suggested, approaches to strength the reliability and stability are demonstrated, and local fault fast recovery algorithm based on root port is presented pointing on the shortage of spanning tree protocol of exchanger. Exploitation of brake testing module with Ethernet port is introduced, protocol stack of embedded TCP/IP and program flow charts are explained. Finally, the structure and function of automobile safety testing supervisory control system are designed and investigated. In the end, sum-up and prospect of the research in the task are stated.
