Electronic Made to Measure is a new mode of clothing production in the 21st century. EMTM utilizes 3D body scanning technology, computer technology and network technology to combine body measure shape analysis style choice clothing design clothing order clothing production together. It has realized the convenient and swift industry chain. It has already become the focal point of research and study in the field of domestic and international clothing production. EMTM will become an important developing direction of digitized clothing production in the future.Shape analysis is a key technology in the EMTM production. It plays a very important role in EMTM production. The Result of shape analysis will directly influence the production of clothing prototype and clothing templet. The exact result of Shape analysis will meet the demand of consumer. It is very important to launch the research of Shape analysis in China. This research will play a positive and hoping role of eMTM research and the development of digital clothing production in our country.This paper regards "The key technology research of Electronic Made to Measure with China and Europe cooperation "as the background of studying. This project is under the care of ShangHai Science and Technology Commission. This paper mainly research shape analysis technology for eMTM. We regard setting up body shape analysis system as the research goal. We have analysed the defect that traditional shape analysis method exists, and We have proposed the idea that use Multivariate statistical analysis to develop Human Body Engineering research, Using Clustering Analysis to analyse the shape characteristic of the goal colony. We have improved the traditional variable choice method of the characteristic, make the result of shape analysis reflect the characteristic of human body more accurately. Meanwhile, We have used Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition to build web based body shape analysis system, Further investigated the advantage of J2EE in setting up distributed multi-layer application system. We have designed and implemented an exoteric andexpanded body shape analysis system. Finally, We utilized the sample data gathered by our university and clothing enterprises to examine the body shape analysis system. The expert in clothing design proves that it has made the good result in various kinds of methods.This paper mainly research shape analysis technology for eMTM. We have designed and implemented a body shape analysis system. This system has already provided service for clothing enterprises. This system has offered the good data support for dress designing and production. The system has met the needs of the research and teaching for the clothing universities and scientific research institutions. The research work of this paper will play a good role for future research and popularization of eMTM in our country.
