With the development of network technology and the prevalence of Internet, managing the campus information using advanced MIS technology and software development platforms has become the latest trend sweeping the university management architectures. Till now almost all the functional departments in universities have set up MIS systems concerning their own daily works, while academic faculties/departments still witness poor network-based information managements. We present a web-based synthetic MIS for campus departmental office automation. The system applies the B/S structure and popular ASP.NET techniques. Functions concern administrations of personal, education, scientific projects, and student affairs. The system has many advanced features like versatile, multi-level users, high security, etc.The contributions of this thesis are as follows:1. We designed and developed the web-based synthesis MIS for campus departmental office automation. The system has the following novel features:(a). Development platform: ASP.NET with SQL Server(b).Real OA running on the Web with multiple functions concerning administration of personal, education, scientific projects, and student affairs.(c).Users with different priorities can access their own interested information.(d). High system security obtained by a multi-level security scheme and a novel DWACBSM security model.(e). User friendly and high convenience.2. We propose a multi-level security scheme and a novel security model -DWACBSM.The presented multi-level security scheme applies various security strategies to network/system level, user level, database level and security model level, while the DWACBSM model combines the RBAC-based data access control and .NET based Web page authentication and authorization. The proposed scheme and model are effectively improves the system security.
