Enterprise application Integration (EAI) can realize the seamless integration among many isolated applications via the combination of hardware, software, standards and business processes, so that one can communicate with the others. On the view of software architecture, EAI can be executed in presentation layer, data layer and function layers. Point-to-point integration and middleware-based integration are the typically traditional EAI solutions, however, they both have some disadvantages such as tight coupling and weak flexibility. As the appearance of web services, web services-based EAI solution is coming forth. Because under the architecture of web services, platform, program language and published have no dependency on others, the technology of web services can reach not only loose integration but also dynamic integration among applications.The thesis puts an emphasis on the web services-based EAI solution and how to understand and wrap those legacy applications that are developed under the platform of .NET. It firstly introduces the understanding method and process on the legacy applications, then interprets how to wrap the legacy into web services, and then shows the properties setting of web services and web methods. What's more, it brings forth some wrapping restrictions, which are used to instruct the wrapping process. Some problems about service quality and service performance, e.g. communication, responsibility period and service redirection, are also discussed in this paper.In order to assist the developer analyses the .NET-based Client/Service (C/S) legacy application and automatically generate web services or the source code of web services, web services wrapper (WSW) is developed. WSW is made of analyzer and wrapper, and its design idea and functions are introduced in the paper. When the developer integrates the .NET-based C/S legacy applications, WSW could enormously reduce the workload , which has greatly practical meaning.At last the thesis introduces one web services-based EAI case, which realize the integration of .NET-based C/S legacy applications. It interprets the understanding and wrapping of legacy application, the use of WSW and the web services call etc.
