IP video phone based on the H.323 protocols transmit the information of video, voice and data over internet. It is an important development direction of the communication technology. H.323 protocols is the standard protocol of network based multimedia communication. This paper describes the software design and implementation of IP video phone.Chapter 1 provides the overview of the IP video phone, and gives the significance of the research work.Chapter 2 introduces the H.323 protocols and the platform of software design. The architecture of H.323 protocols, the component of H.323 terminal and the signal of H.323 protocol are presented in details.Chapter 3 presents the architecture of the IP video phone, including hardware architecture design and software architecture design.Chapter 4 is focused on the software design of IP video phone, including three parts: terminal design, GUI design, and system interface design. Terminal design discusses the architecture of H.323 terminal and the call flow. GUI design includes the user interface design, key design, data structure defines and object define. System interface design includes terminal interface design, GUI interface design and data exchange of the tow part.Chapter 5 discusses the software test of IP video phone; include software framework test, software function test, and protocol compatibles test.Chapter 6 gives the main research conclusion and the prospect of further research work.
