The traditional technology for designing laser depended on the design handbook, empirical formula or the results of experimentation. And the design blue print is corrected by the experience. The developments of simulation and optimization technologies give us a possibility, that is, by simulating the laser's working state in the computer and analyzing its results, its design parameters are improved, which will shorten the time, economize the materials used in examination and lower cost, et al. The temperature distribution of the working gas in the way of flowing gas of High-power transverse-flow CO2 Laser (HP TF CO2 Laser) is one of the most important factors which influence laser's working capability, so it is necessary to study the temperature field in the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser using simulation technology and optimize the parameters of the way of flowing gas.Firstly, the paper analyzes the present situation of simulation and optimization technologies and its correlative technologies in home and abroad, and proves the necessity of simulating the temperature field in the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser and optimizing the parameters of the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser.Based on discussing the structure, working principle and working performance of HP TF CO2 Laser, combined with the basic theory of temperature analyses and thermal analyses in flowing fluent, the state of the working gas in the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser is decided. The model of temperature field of the. way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser is built in ANSYS, configuring its variables, simulating the HP TF CO2 Laser's working statements in different conditions, the temperature distribution graph in the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser is gotten.Analyzed the simulated results, found its deficiency and decided the design variables, state variables and objective functions, the multi-object optimizing mathematics model of the way of flowing gas in HP TF CO2 Laser is built. Solved the model and gained the more reasonable design scheme than before.
