The laser cutting of glass plate is a very perspective machining technology which is far more advantaged than the traditional glass cutting technology, and it will be the main machining technology of the nearly future. The theory of the effect of the glass surface which irradiated by the laser is discussed.Firstly the overseas and domestic introduction of the area of the laser cutting of glass is discussed, and the intention and its source with meaning of this study are also mentioned.The classic heat exchange equation is used to describe the heat exchange process of the glass plate which irradiated by laser. And the resolution of the heat exchange equation of the infinite and semi-infinite plate is discussed and its condition of usage is also given.The theory foundation of the finite element analysis(FEA) is mentioned. The model is established with the ANSYS, and the Guassion distribution surface heat source is loaded to solve the problem. The temperature information and the thermal circle are obtained. The problem that exists during our computing is also discussed.Some researches have been done on the experiment of the acting of the laser and the glass. The thermovision infrared system has been used to measure the temperature of surface of the glass. The figures of the temperature distribution and the thermal circle of the glass are drawn by Matlab with the data that thermovision infrared system measured. At last, the factors which may affect the final experimental result are discussed.Some researches about the moving laser acting with the glass are done and the analytical temperature distribution is obtained. With ANSYS numerical simulation, the temperature information can be obtained. Temperature contour and thermal circle figures can be gotten from experiment.In all, the theory compute under the ANSYS simulation can be accord with the experiment. With the different experimental conditions, the influence of different parameter to the temperature can be obtained. The correctness of the theoretical computing can be validated by the experiment.
