| Grid is a new emerging technology, which is based on Internet. Its main goal is to provide its users with broader share of distributed resources. It consists of a large number of virtual organizations in which membership changes dynamically. In such an environment, how to manage and use resources efficiently becomes a very important issue in Grid research.Based on analysis of existing resource management models, such as the Hierarchy Model, the Abstract Owner Model, and the Computational Economy Model, and so on, a new resource management model, Grid Resource Shop Model (GRSM), which has been applied in the CNGrid project, is described in this paper.GRSM consists of the Grid Resource Shop Server (GRSS), the Grid Resource Provider (GRP), the Provider Agent (PA), the Grid Resource Consumer (GRC) and the Consumer Agent (CA).PA is the agent of GRP, and CA is the agent of GRC. GRSS is the connector of PA and CA. GRP sales its resources to GRS through aid of PA, and GRC buys resources from GRS through aid of CA.In this paper, mechanisms for describing and setting of price of resources, computing fee of jobs, management of resource adding and exiting are described.GRSM can adjust resources prices according to the relationship between resources demand and supply. And through interaction of GRSS, no direct interaction between GRP and GRC is needed, which can improve the efficiency of communication, system security and expansibility. |
