During the TV station managing programs, plenty of information was created, which is valuable asset and wealth, and can't been recovered. This is media assets. How to use and manager the media assets becomes the key of building a high-speed, steady and secure platform in digital TV.Base on the development of science and technology, especially in computer, multimedia, network field, we provide a solution for media management, which is Media Asset Management(MAM), which is a large computer and network application system, established on the technique of multimedia, computer, network and database. It provides the platform for inhomogeneous media contents in function areas such as coding, cataloging, storage, retrieval and delivery. Surrounding this system, not only the nonlinear editing system and the DVB digital program broadcast system can be joined together to become a full network, but also the increment services can be developed. In this thesis, the requirement of MAM is discussed, and conception of MAM is provided. The work flow and the structure design of the system is mark out. The solution of the key technologies is provided, which content a two-channel method for coding; a three-level storage mode judged by the frequency of use; a logical database design for the catalog and research. The problem of joining digital program broadcast system and EPG system is maturely discussed in this thesis.MAM system is the goal of the constructing for digital and networked broadcaster operations, and also the basic of the developing of services in the future. With the recognition of the MAM by TV Station or Broadcasting Station, the MAM systems will be the highlight of the development of the technology for broadcaster operations.
