Design And Realization Of A Expressway Monitoring System

Expressway has been playing an important role in the national economy. To work normally and take full advantage of the expressway,it depends on the monitoring system. Expressway monitoring system (EMS) has become an important field of science research ,and all contries all over the world have been making great efforts to study and develop it.lt is also the development direction of intelligent transport system in 21th century. The main content of this thesis is the summarization of author's research result in this field.This thesis takes an EMS in which the author participated as its background. A relative complete EMS scheme ,which is the summarization and some improvement of a practical EMS realized by us,is proposed. Firstly,the requirements of the EMS are analyzed,and the overall design of the EMS,which includes hardware design,software function modules design,traffic minitoring and controling scheme design,and database design,is carried outThese detailed analyzation and design will give the reader an intact understanding of the EMS.Then,the system's developing environment,the point-to-point communication among computers in LAN,main monitoring device's implementation principle are discussed. Finally, with the help of the operating interface of the EMS,the working mode and main functions of the system are introduced.The EMS is a complex system,and it includes three subsystems:road monitoring ,tunnel monitoring,and toll station monitoring. This thesis focus on the analyzation and design of the road monitoring subsystem.The design and implementation of the EMS synthesizes multifold technologies, such as network, computer control, OOP, database design, component, multithreading, redundancy ,and so on.The summarization of the key technologies is given in the last part of the paper.Comparing with other similar monitoring systems,our EMS has some advantagestmore functions, more advanced and more reliable .So it can offer help and references to the researcher in their research and application of the EMS.
