| The paper firstly makes a general introduction to the MBA education with related knowledge and development of MIS in the Management School. The background and significance of system programming is focused on. Presently, master program is greatly enlarged in the School, but is confronted with complicated management work. Traditional approach does not meet the needs of the society. High demands is put on the "regulation, information, and network" of constructing the teaching information management system in higher education home and abroad. As a result, the development of MBA information management system for Management School in Jilin University is earnestly demanded.Chapter 2 is on the principle of MIS construction, programming methods, as well as final choice and system requirement analysis. MIS construction principle is mentioned through scientific, rational, adaptive, applicable and integral viewpoints. The advantages and disadvantages of classical periodic method, rapid prototype method, and DADM are compared through viewpoint of software programming. In the paper, a comprehensive method is applied that combines the three methods in basic concept. At last, a detailed description on the organization of the MBA Education Center of the School. A careful analysis over the running of MBA education center is presented in flow charts, including a detailed requirement analysis. The MBA Education Center consists of Enrollment Branch, Teaching Management Branch, and Routine Affairs Branch. Enrollment Branch is in charge of the preparation of students' enrollment. Teaching Management Branch and Routine Affairs Branch are in charge of students' status management, teaching management, academic record management, dissertation management and after-gradation information track.Chapter 3 discusses the design concept from several aspects about Visual FoxPro 6.0, the software for the system. In accordance with the system requirement and operation flow chart analysis, the functional modules are designed, including enrollment information, teaching files, student information, academic record management, teaching stuff information, curricular, course selection and management modules. The basic principle of database is considered for database construction, including application forms, teaching document forms, student information, academic record information, teaching staff information and curricular tables. The methods of data flow chart are introduced in, and analysis is made. Finally system security design is mentioned.Chapter is about the construction of the system. Firstly, the programming and principle that system design must follow, that is, validity, reliability, conciseness, effectiveness, maintainability, rectification, and how the functions are conducted. Application form module aims at the business of the Enrollment branch in the MBA Education Center. Its major function is the management on the service of registration, inquiry, storage, output and tract of the applicants.Teaching document form module aims at the classification and compile of regulations, archives and programs by the Nation, the Postgraduate School and the School. A fast access is available.Student information is the foundation of the entire system. Basic archive and dissertation information of students can be edited, rectified, inquired and surveyed in the module. Academic record information module is to record, search, and store the students' academic records. It also can be used in score counting and transcript print.Teaching staff information module is to record, search, and store the basic information of the teaching staff and courses they teach, availing the management of the teaching staff. It is one of the key platforms to curricula module.Curricular module is to edit and search for information of selective, compulsory and directive courses in the curricula for MBA, IE, PM students.
