Manufacturing is the foundation of industry in a country, manufacturing technology is the technology backbone of manufacturing, and whether the level of manufacturing is high or low is the important index which estimates the developing level of the country's industry. The manufacturing which is represented by the traditional machining electron industry is coming through a profound revolution.In the revolution, developing advanced manufacturing technology energetically has been one of several strategies of the most important technology in most countries. What's more, advanced manufacturing technology has been an important method in international competition and production renovation. The Numerical Control (NC) technology is the base of advanced manufacturing technology. During the process that modern manufacturing technology is being developed along the direction of integration, synthesis and intelligentizing, researching the new generation of NC technology, that is the Open Numerical Control System (ONCS), is of important practicing value and significance.Motion Controller (MC) is a control device that regards its central logic unit as the core, sensor as the sensitive component, and electromotor or executive unit as the controlled object. MC is very important in the ONCS, because it is the most important to control the movement of the motor of each axis in the NC system and the precision of position control and performance of velocity adjusting are directly related to MC. In the present, all of the researches of ONCS focus on that of the PC-based NC control device, whose key is the research of Motion Control Board (MCB) which is used to control stepping or servo motor. To PC-NC, in some degree,the performance of MCB decides that of the whole NC system, further more, the development and application of technology of macroelectronics and Digital Signal Processing continuously improve the performance of MCB and greatly increase the level of integration and dependability.During the research, through the overall survey of ONCS and deep study of Motion Control Technology (MCT), facing the behindhand actuality of research of domestic MCT, to meet the practical requirements of the laser carving field, following the developing trend of the present MCT, drawing on the new production of the present ONCS and relating MCT, adopting the solution based on DSP and FPGA, we have developed a four-axis multifunctional MCB which is very original, powerful and flexible.In the paper, there are the following major contents:Firstly, through the overall survey of industrial actuality of manufacturing, ONCS and MCB, and deep study of MCT, after comparing the common solutions of motion control, we established the design of motion control and made out the whole framework of board.Secondly, in allusion to some prcatical problems in the motion control, such as high speed, high precision, motion stabilization, real-time control and muti-axis contouring control, etc, we designed a four-axis MCB that one axis is independent of another in the FPGA. We defined the functions of all of the registers in detail, designed perfect Acceleration/ Deceleration Control Circuit, Variable Frequency Divider Circuit, Multiplication Factor Frequency Divider Circuit and three different counter circuits, achieved special functions of the S-curve Acceleration/ Deceleration Control, Ramping-down Point Counter & Calculation Circuit and A/B encoder multi-frequency circuit, etc.Thirdly, we introduced the application of DSP in the field of motion control, made out the forming process of DSP instructions and designed the framework of achievement of DSP software.And then, we designed digital input/output circuit according to the principle ofphotoelectricity isolation, four-channel analog output circuit by the priciple of DAC, achieved the design of PCI interface circuit and put forward effective anti-jamming measures in allusion to common jamming phenomena.Finally, making use of perfect control functions of MCB, in order to meet the special equirements that the industry o...
