A Web-based System Of Automated Testing & Scoring For Basic Computer Application

The method of object-orientation is a software development method that makes use of the concepts of object, class, inheritance, encapsulation, aggregation, message transmission, polymorphism to construct a system.C# and .NET Framework have been the most important recent technologies. In the environment of .NET Framework, we can develop almost any application that runs on Windows and other platforms. C# is a new programming language, which enables us to develop dynamic web pages and Windows desktop applications running in .NET Framework.This thesis has developed an intranet testing and grading management system for Basic Computer Application, using this new method of object-orientation for analysis and design. It realizes the designed functions by way of the object-oriented programming language C# on the most recent development platform of Visual Studio .NET.This system combines two subsystems: testing and grading, realizing the functions of question database management, random question selection, auto testing, auto checking and grading. The question bank created through the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database management system is shared by the two subsystems. The C/S architecture of management subsystem is realized by desktop application based on Windows, offering the functions of database maintenance, test paper composition, answer sheet checking and grade management. The testing subsystem's B/S architecture is provides the function of testing.The system enables flexible question selection, easy test paper composition, automatic checking and grading, and convenient operation.Therefore, it helps to efficiently cut down the large amount of labor and expenses for organizing a test and for completing the following tasks. What is more, it can be a platform for regular quizzes, greatly facilitaing teaching and learning.
