Development And Research Of Key Technology On City Spatial Information Oriented Mobile Terminal (PDA)

Spatial information took about 80 percent of the whole information. There' s always a great need for spatial information because of the social progress and continuous increase of economy. So the subject of Information acquisition and management technology was made by the National 863 plan group during the 5 years since 2000, which include the R&D of spatial information resources. This project began at the time.According to the requirements of the project, named City Spatial Information Application Service System based on SIG Framework - Mobile Platform Oriented Information Acquisition and Service subsystem, some key methods on city spatial information oriented mobile terminal (MT) was researched. Started with the basic GIS development on local, we worked at the query methods. Then according to the CS modal, research was done on the multi-functional MT based on the city spatial information service platform, which enable the terminal to query vector and raster data. Aimed at the characteristics of the MT, data acquisition system was developed to collect different type of objects and to upload data to server, which will do much help to improve the management of city grid information. At last we made some effort to research mobile agent, and brought forward the way of spatial information oriented MT.
