Design Online Learning Support System Based On Knowledge Management

Learning support system is one of the important subsystem in distance education system and the key to enhance the quality of distance education. But it is indicated that the theory and practice of the learning support is behind the knowing of the importance of the learning support. At the same time, the rising of the online learning puts some new questions forward it.The dissertation begins with the analysis of the existing question and deficiency in current learning support system : the shortage in online learning support system; it is so overemphasized the faith of service that makes against the train of the ability of the independence learning; the question about personality and affectivity in learning support system; the neglect of sharing the learning support experience among the teachers; the neglect of the support between the students contribute to the learning support, and so on. Therefore, the dissertation puts forward a solution based on knowledge management, instituted of technology, organization and culture. The dissertation is mainly about the technology and pays most attention to design and develop an online learning support system based on knowledge management.The body of the dissertation is about the design, develop and utilization of the learning support system. In the part of design, the dissertation analyses the characteristic of the online learner, the relation between the classification of online learning and the learning support, the content and the function of online learning support system, the pattern of the knowledge management in distance education, the function of the personal knowledge management by studying a number of literatures, some comparative research and a questionnaire research, and brings forward an online learning support mode based on knowledge management. Besides, the dissertation also detailedly design the knowledge taxon system in knowledge management system and virtual learning community based on activity theory. In the part of develop, the dissertation introduce the browser/server software system structure, developmentenvironment based on Microsoft .net framework, multi-tier system architecture, key technology such as web service, smart client, and the function of the system divided into two parts. In the part of application, the dissertation detailedly depicts the process of the application and the evaluation of the system by interview research, evaluation research and analysis of the data in the system.In the end, the achievement and innovation points are summarized:1. In theory, it brings the knowledge management theory into the construction of learning support system and gives a problem-solved concept model of online learning support system;2. In practice, from the application of knowledge management in online learning support point of view, it develops an online learning support system based on knowledge management theory and processes elementary application on it.
