In the area of optoelectronics, the semiconductor-optoelectronics play a very important role. The photoelectric devices, which contained laser and detector were widely used in optical-fiber communication, laser-printer, laser-length-detector, laser instrument and the reading and writing of the CD ROM. etc. With the development of the technology of optoelectronics, the integration of optoelectronic is inevitable. The optoelectronic integrated circuit(OEIC) is a new device which combined semiconductor-photoelectric devices and other devices on the same chips or underlays. In the last 10 years, the research of OEIC focused mainly on optoelectronic receiver.Optoelectronic receiver is constituted with semiconductor-optoelectronic detector and amplifier. The optoelectronic detector, which receiving and detecting the light and transform the optical signals into electric ones, is the important receiving part in optical-fiber communication. The amplifier can magnify the weak electric signals for further treatment. In the development of OEIC. the computer aided design (CAD) of OEIC is becoming more and more important. It will be the important means to the design of high-quality devices. With the help of PSPICE, which is a software in circuit simulating, we can make a simulation on the design of the OEIC. This artice introduces a metal-semiconductor-metal-photodetector(MSM-PD) circuit model that can be used in CAD. gives the PSPICE subcircuit description of the model, and make a confirmation of the model using the circuit simulator PSPICE.The model, which is based on E.Sano model and deduced by the rate equations for excess electron and excess hole, can be used in DC analysis, AC analysis and transient analysis. The result of DC photoelectric characteristic simulation coincided with the experiment very well. Meanwhile the article also makes a simulation on GaAs optoelectronic receiver formed by MSM-PD in circuit level, and gives compare and analysis with the result of experiment.
