Rapid development of technology makes work dividing of society smaller and smaller. Product developing and drastic market competition require enterprises optimize resource collaboration. Therefore development of product needs concurrent working among many enterprises and corresponding research departments. Enterprises should employ the network-centered information technologies,improve the power of competition by the means of the new design and manufacture mode, realize quick assembling and exploiting of geographically distributed design resource and shape a team-based collaborative design mode inside and between the enterprises base on the network. This thesis primarily concentrates on the collaborative design system and its overall framework, working mode, system structure and supporting technologies. The main contents are listed as the following: Firstly, the dissertation introduce the concept and characteristics related to concurrent engineering, then analysis position and function of collaborative design in concurrent engineering. Secondly, the dissertation analyze the key techniques of collaborative design and Web Services. Thirdly, the design idea, general architecture, integrated environment framework of Web Services-based system in collaborative design and system functions are presented. Then analyze the main system functions and working process. Fourthly, the realization of two key techniques are discuss in detail including the whole products information model and the modeling methods for process of products designing. Finally, the application examples in "Collaborative Design System of Some Aircraft Products" is given. Technology of Web Services is shown in overall product information modeling and process modeling.
