Placename-querying System Based On USSD

The research and implementation of a placename-querying system based on USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data), which compose of the application system based on USSD and the Management Information System (MIS) based on Web, is represented in this paper.First, after the analysis and comparison of several query technologies, such as call center, Short Message Service (SMS), WAP and USSD, such conclusion can be reached that USSD has several advantages as high efficiency, easy use, simple operation and low maintain cost. Then, application mode, working mechanism, interface and so on, and SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer) network communication are described and analyzed in the paper. The function of placename-querying based on USSD is implemented by two modules, the application system based on USSD and the MIS based on Web. Combining the function of SMPP API, the Object Oriented Programming language—Java is adopted to realize the treatment and the conjunction among every module of USSD application system. JSP is used to realize the MIS based on Web, JavaBean is used to encapsulate JDBC to connect the Oracle 9i database and implement the operation of the database. Use the management mechanism to implement the function that different users perform different data information.In the end of this paper, an application of placename-query system based on USSD is put forward. It is indicated from the result of the program running that the placename-query system based on USSD can implement the function of the querying about the placename of Dalian and the management to the system. This system works stably, normally and is easy to be operated and maintained.
