The graphical configuration system is an important part of the development environment in a configuration software. The system abstracts concrete objects in the control field using graphics mode, builds the relationship of them, and forms technique flow chart and mutual view between users and system in the end.Considering the demand of the customer and referring excellent configuration software in the world, this paper chooses Factory Method from several classical methods to design the framework of the software. The methods applied in this paper assure consistency and opening of the system.The system is developed by Visual C++6.0,and divided into three modules, according to the idea of modeling design. The modules of graphical editor are in charge of creation, motion, zoom and edit the graphics. It also imports the gallery and ActiveX control using the technology of COM. The software implements the connection between graphics and I/O variable by animation module. In this way, user can watch and control the devices in the field. The module of XML document is a significant part of data soft fieldbus of the configuration software. Functionally, it consists of two parts. One is for reading the configuration data and the other is used to generate the running information. This paper adopts MSXML to create and parse the XML document.The graphical system is a configuration software with friendly interface and easy to be used. It is applied in projects that all have good application effects, which also proves the software can be applied in industrial control fields, such as chemistry, power, etc.
