With the fast development of digital technology and the Improvement of people's living standard, Consumer's requisition for television tends to digitization and large screen more and more. The technology of DLP (Digital Light Processing) from Texas Instruments company, has been paid more close attention to by its own advantages. In this dissertation, the research of DLP characteristic measurement has been developed on the basis of finishing the measurement of luminance distributing of electron beam and the testing of color homogeneity for CPT. Upon the characteristic of DLP projection technology, this dissertation analyzes and measures the important composition and quality of the projection picture of the DLP projector. It includes three parts:Part 1 expatiates on the development of the DLP technology and the application of the DLP technology in various fields. In addition, this part researches the operation of DLP projection and compared the DLP technology with other projected display technologies. The DMD cell structure and its working principle, signal sequence of voltage control, fabrication flow has been introduced in this section in detail. This part also carries on computational analysis of simple model to the DMD bistable condition. Based on the principle of DLP projection, this section proposes a new digital photofinishing method that applies DLP technology in the conventional silver halide imaging chain, and designs the equipment system.Part 2 has analyzed the structure characteristic of the light source of DLP. And based on the basic conception and the method of measuring light source luminance in the luminosity, this section proposes a new method of measuring light distributing of lamp by using the way of aperture imaging and photoelectric switch technology of CCD. The lamp characteristic measurement system is developed. And by using this testing system, we have measured the light distributing and its core offset for a lot of DLP lamps.Part 3 has analyzed the principle of DLP projection and designed the automatic measuring system for DLP imaging quality. The testing method of this system which agreed with the ANSI standard, is based on the Modulate Transmit Function. After the programming of software and some components of this system, an automatic measurement system, which based on the pulse widthcontrol of multi-CCD and synchronous signal generator, has been established for DLP imaging quality measuring. And this measuring system can comprehensively evaluate the imaging quality of DLP projections by using multi-standards. After measuring a large amount of DLP projections, the system has been testified that it can test and evaluate the DLP imaging quality more precisely and more repetitively.
