In the 21st century - also known as the "Knowledge Economy" era, the production, diffusion and application of knowledge has become the key impetus for Economic Development. It not only brings the enterprise competition ability, but also promotes society the ability to gain long-term economic increase. The main task for what is called "Knowledge Worker", is to gather and possess the knowledge he wants before making a decision. However, describing knowledge with only words is quite difficult, even can't show its panorama. Especially for tacit knowledge, by using pure word records, people can't explain the complex relations between knowledge snippets. Using knowledge map can inspire the enthusiasm of knowledge workers, and establish "knowledge share" atmosphere.Bringing visualized methods into knowledge modeling process is of great importance. Mind map, topic map and concept map are the three most popular ways to carry out visualized knowledge modeling. But, people need more powerful measures to record, manage and represent knowledge. KML (Knowledge Modeling Language) can depicts the knowledge map by graphical grammar and semantics, making the "knowledge structure" more meaningful.KML is comprised of knowledge objects, relationships and diagrams, with rational grammar and semantic rules; it's quite easy for one to draw dendriform or netted knowledge maps (whether conceptual, process or competency ones). With KML, people can transform the inherent knowledge record to graphical document, thereby to show the panorama of knowledge, meanwhile the use of knowledge also turned to be more direct and effective.
