The Research Of Remote Monitoring And Control System For Plastics Production System Using Distribution Component Technologies

Extrusion equipment of plastic is an important machine in the polymer industry. To make sure a stable, high-speed and high-quality production, many factors must be considered, which include extrusion, temperature controlling, and traction, screw design. All these factors make up of a complex coincidence system. But many factories still using traditional control methods. Such methods do not keep up with the high-speed technology developing in our current society.In the design course of plastic pipe extrusion machine, the writer has designed a control system after compare many control solution. The system is a three-level distributive network, which consists of the real time control and monitor network, the local manger and service network and the remote monitor and control network. In the system, PLCs perform real control units and PC-based operator control center performs monitor function. User can put the video capture card into the computer to record local scene. In this manner, the writer has designed a local producing and monitor system. To enhance the design of system, the writer uses an external module to implement the distributed monitor and control system, which can be used in many platforms such as Windows, Linux. The technologies to implement the function are OPC and CORBA protocols. We use OPC to transfer data between our module and control center and use CORBA to build a band connecting distributed users. In other ways, the OPC interface can be added in modern control module and CORBA server and clients can be used as data server and expert system. In the paper, the writer introduces many technologies. They are SCADA system, OPC, CORBA and video capture based on DirectShow. The writer believes that the introducing and application of the control solution will accelerate the modernizing of plastic production.
