Epoxy Resin is widely used in every field of country economy because of its good capability. Therefore how to adopt advanced automatic control device and control theory to control the production of Epoxy Resin aiming to improve the automatic level of plant is very important. Based on thoroughly researching and comparing among many process control devices, Total Plant Solution (TPS), the most advanced control device, is selected from many Distributed Control System (DCS) to accomplish the production of Epoxy Resin. Firstly, combining fluent communication with enlarging capability, hardware of TPS System is designed according to the control scale of Epoxy Resin project. The process of Epoxy Resin production is reasonably compartmentalized; fully matching technical needs and linking with the operating habit of workers the branch system of product automation, a batch and continual control plan, is developed, which not only accomplish the automatic control of production process but also freely switch from many operating modes according to operating need. By using of plant resources and the flexibility of CL language the branch system of product quality guarantee, a recipe management plan, is developed, which not only can flexibly select appropriate recipe but also can ensure the consistency of production quality. The branch system of safeguard, the design of alarm, interlock and shutdown, can ensure the safety of plant and its circumambience and reduce the lost of fault. The performance condition is good in last nine months, which prove the feasibility of system design and control plan. The product that successfully enter market has gained much economic benefit. The control plan can be used for reference to other process plants.
