Software integration is the important means of software resource reusing or software second development. With the software industry developing continuously, the sorts and number of software have been increasing day after day, many software which are different in forms but similar in function turn up in succession, the importance of software integration is appearing gradually. Moreover, as software is infiltrating in all kinds of fields, many fields claim that the functions of software must be better and better, for instance, in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering, the solution of a large chemistry and chemical engineering problem depends on the union of many software. The research of software integration techniques is laid emphasis on gradually. By now, many people have done a great deal of research in software integration, and they have made some achievements. But because of the difference in software design standards as well as the disagreement in second development extent that different software supports, there are a great many problems which need to be settled. This thesis summarizes the research progress of software integration techniques, on the basis of this, the author of this thesis realize that the research of a software integration technique which has full functions and is suit for all sorts of software is of great importance. The research object of this thesis is the software concerning chemistry and chemical engineering. Combining with other software running under the Windows system, analyzing the general characteristics of all the software and studying the features of the Windows system itself as well as the mechanism of its managing applied procedure process, this thesis finds out a common method and raises a new software integration technique which possesses widespread application. Almost all kinds of software which run under the Windows system can be integrated by this technique. This thesis alsoinitially devises the integration circumstances of chemistry and chemical engineeringsoftware.1 The new conception of software integration was proposed. We thought that the software integration is the integration of data and interface of the software, code integration was proposed to achieve the request of single function of some users. The author proposed the tactic of software integration corresponding to the conception of software integration and discuss it from the tactic of data integration, interface integration and code integration. As far as the interface integration, to integrate the interface of all kinds of software which run in the windows system, the author thought that we should make the message management mechanism as a base to study. Because the message is the center of all of the software run in the windows system and the software is driven by the event; As far as the data integration, to achieve the data communication of all kinds of software, the author thought that we should make the clipboard mechanism as a base to study after compared all of the communication methods of windows system; As far as the code integration, the author proposed the method that make some function into a module from software from conception and the module can be thought as a independent software. To understand it from this, the code integration is the combination of the data integration and the interface integration.2 This thesis put forward the method of software interface integration. Author classifies the software that runs under the Windows system, three types included: single document windows programme including menu, poly-document windows programme containing menu and dialogue frame windows programme.
