Network Technology And Its Application In Network Management

With the development of network,users' demand on network changes persistently. More kinds of information transmitted and higher quality of services (Qos) provided are greatly required. Malpractices of the traditional network stand out increasingly and have limited the further development of network.Active Network is one of the approaches to address the technical barriers.As a new programmable network architecture,the active network supports the development,verification,and deployment of new network protocols and services.Also,it presents new approaches for network management,Qos control,and new services like reliable multicast. This dissertation covers the key technology of Active Network and its Application in network management. Based on reading and analyzing mass of inside and outside correlative papers,we have studied the characters and mechanism of active network,designed the logic and software architecture of active node and practiced realization of active network.This dissertation also discussed the application of active network in network management.A highly efficient management platform should be distributed and programmable.This dissertation has researched how active network technology can be used to realize efficient distributed network management. In this paper, a new network management model is put forward based on the active network technology.Many key points concerned with the model are carefully argued such as the execution environment,active packet,distribution mechanism of active code,security mechanism for active network and the activation of traditional node. At last, a prototype system is realized.
